A Comparative Study on the Ease of Doing Business in the Maghreb Countries

Abstract

    Realizing the importance of creating new businesses for the development of economies is an urgent matter. Doing Business focuses on regulation affecting local firms across 12 domains. This article examines the ease of doing business in the Maghreb countries according to various indicators. It also explores the impact of its reforms on the ranking and performance of doing business between 2019-2020.


     The study is based on data collected from the World Bank's Doing Business website and the Doing Business reports published by the World Bank. Among the Maghreb countries, the most preferred destination for doing business in 2020 is Morocco, followed by Tunisia.
