Face-Negotiation" Theory in Intercultural Communication - Epistemological Reading- [In Arabic]

Abstract
The first aim of this article is to introduce Stella Ting Tomei theory, called: face-negotiation. It is a theory unknown in the Arab academic context, although work on it had begun since 1985, within the framework of intercultural communication. The second aim is to reveal the theoretical background of this theory.
The article concluded that this theory has benefited from many scientific contributions in different sciences. But the most obvious impact remains in intercultural communication approaches and Face theories, especially Facework theory of Erving Goffman.
